Cape Point goes orange!

In support of Netherlands making it to the finals of the Soccer World Cup, Cape Point went Orange!

On the 11th of July the enthusiastic staff of the new Flying Dutchman Funicular donned bright orange shirts and even brighter smiles to welcome the Dutch supporters to Cape Point.  For every ticket sold on the Flying Dutchman Funicular, visitors received an orange! The Dutch supporters loved the idea and the staff enjoyed the opportunity to interact with visitors in such a fun way. 

Thousands of soccer supporters have experienced the new and improved Flying Dutchman Funicular over the World Cup period.  Taking the funicular saved them the long climb to the top light house where they could enjoy the magnificent views.

The new, modern Flying Dutchman funicular opened to the public on the 8th June 2010. It now features a new body, safer braking technology and bigger windows that allow visitors a 360 degree view of plunging cliffs and white sandy beaches.
